As the leading Consortium partners the University of Oxford and the FoRBLN are committed to providing a safe environment for all adults and children. FoRBLN may encounter those at risk through its operations, teaching, research, outreach, access or other activities. FoRBLN and the University cannot act ‘in loco parentis’ and ultimate responsibility for children rests with those who have parental responsibility. This Code of Practice seeks to offer assurances to staff, students, volunteers and visitors that safeguarding will be dealt with effectively and in a timely manner.
